Training ROUND 2

Elder Winder and I in Arad
Hey everyone!  It was a good last week of the transfer followed up by some good news!  Im training again!  My Elder Nango family line will still run strong for generations!

Overview:
-I did ALOT of baking this week.  Brownies, cookies, pancakes (not baking..), etc.  It was a deliciously fattening last week of the transfer
- This dude next to me is watching porn....#ghei Wheres a  law of chastity pamphlet when you need one...
-Elder Hellewell got sick but still rocked the week with some work! #staystrong
-Went to my little city of Arad for an exchange.  It was great.  Lots of reminiscing  in my old favorite ARAD memories.  I got to see a member and we went contacting.  The Elders there right now are pretty chill.  I like them alot.

District run for Pday

Story:
After our exchange in Arad we took a train home to Oradea.  The train was 1 hour late and waited in the gara for another hour...#life and so we are finally moving and a while later the conductor asks why we didnt get off at Oradea..And we said..Oh..We didnt know, its dark and we cant see anything and i was talkking on the phone and distracted...#whatislife?  So we told him we would get off at the next stop.  The next stop didnt come for about 40 minutes...So we were pretty far away from Oradea..and it was already 10pm..So...We got to a sat called Alesd and the ticket office was closed and we asked a conductor what to do and he said to just buy one on the train but the train wasnt coming for an hour...SO we waited int he middle of noewhere in the dark for an hour.  The train comes at around 1130 or so and the conductor said he had to fine us for not having tickets but he eventually had mercy and gave us a regular ticket.  We were relieved when we got home.

Spiritual Thought:
I hope to do alot better this time around at training.  I feel like at an emotional, spiritual and missionary level im at a way better place than i was a year ago when i first trained.  I really want to do the lord proud and i am goiung to make "be strong" my motto for the transfer.  Followed by 3 Nefi 5:13

"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life"

This scripture is super cool and reminds me why i came on a mission.  To preach!  Not to be a baby and cry!  haha.  But i am looking forward to putting a new emphasis on finding new investigators and to meet Pres Uchtdorf!

Dinner and a Show

Me and the gents
Overview:
-Last week we ran into a member randomly who lives in Spain and was baptized there.  She was so happy to see us na dwe showed her the church and she was so sad it was so small :(  But randomly this week we saw her again right before she left which was good.  She is exactly what romania needs right now.  I hope she comes back here someday.
-I met a guy who lived it Queens NY (#represent) he was wearing a Giants tee and so i had to talk to him!  He was cool and had traveled all over America.  Couldnt convince him to come to church though X)  Oh well.  You win some, you lose some.
Reading outloud in the parc
-We went through the Less Active list and all 3 nights we did it, we found out all of them had moved exceot for one who doesnt come home very often...So that was a little disappointing.  Their neighbors wernt too keen to listen to our message either.  But thats why we are here. To INVITE, not force.
-Met up with a cool Congan black guy named Saya.  We are gunna help him learn english haha.
-FUNNY STORY ALERT:  While getting a drink with Saya, a drunk man decided it would be a good idea to swim in the fountain.  SO he took off all his clothes and started swimming...The police came later and arrested him and put his clothes back on.  #whatislife #dinnerandashow
-stopped by a HUngarian flower festival really quick.  It was pretty globe. #below
-Went on top of the Primaria building and took pics. #below

Spiritual Thought:
Sorry i dont have any good stories to share this week but i am running out of time.  Today i just want to share some experiences i have had on my mission about trying.  This week was a good week for us in terms of lessons.  8 lessons happened and we had 13 planned.  (dont judge me..im in EU,  haha)  But in the extra time we tried being super efficient in terms of finding and we focused on the "lost sheep" as they might be called.  We walked up and down the streets of Oradea endlessly looking for these people.  We began with prayers and asked the Lord to guide us to people.  And in the end, nothing.  Some might say that this is due to many things.  A lack of a God, a lack of faith, a failure to do all that you can, etc.  But the key this week was that we DID do what we were able;  We tried;  We invited people to come unto Christ;  We opened our mouths to those around us; and we came up at the end of the week with only one new investigator and 2 phone numbers.  Compared to other weeks that is SUPER low..But we learn in the scriptures and i know personally that God loves us and gives us trials so we can grow and learn.  During each of these contacting moments my companion and i were able to look back at it and look for ways we can improve and perfect our approaches and finding.  The great thing about this Gospel is that we get credit for trying.  We arnt perfect.  But the Lord knows us and will strengthen us and guide us.
In as much as we are trying to establish the church in our area we will have success as a missionary.

Haircuts, MLC, Branch Trip

Hello everyone!  This week was pretty good!  A little slow but we mad up for it on this last monday by scheduling a lot of lessons and starting off the week fantastically!

Before
Overview:
-Sora Falkenberg cut my hair.  Looks pretty good for an amateur ;)  BUt i can just grow my hair out till the rest of my mission, haha. Dont worry mama!  Teh curls still exist.  The huge fro is gone though.  On the bright side, i wore your lucky shirt, Papa.  #gomets It was a pretty fun ghetto mess.  I forgot to bring a towel..So we used a Justin Bieber pillowcase.  I couldnt find my haircutting scissors, so..paper scissors were used.  And it was a fun experience overal.  #districtbonding

After
- We had Missionary Leadership Council, which meant we had to wake up at 3am and arrive at bucharest at 7am and then wait int he office till 10am..So it was quite day.  The Taxi driver decided to run his meter from who knows when before he picked us up..So i noticed bythe time we were almost t the office..And i didnt want to fight with him since the drive would get refunded by the office...#life...Ohwell...MLC was great though.  Vaughn Burbage came.  He is a friend of President Ivory's who came and spoke to us last year and he is literally the most positive person on the planet (next to sora Brinkman) ;)  He spoke to us about the importance of gratitude and positivity in  missionary work.  It was a great talkand really helped many of us change our attitude.  We also practiced teaching the restoration.  It was really fun nd he gave a lot of tips on becoming a better teacher. MLC was good also for the reason i got to say goodbye to sdome friends who i wont see till we meet again in 'Merica.  So that was good.

-The sisters in my group go home on Wednesday...Crazy!  That means i only have 6 months left...#life...Goodbye Soras Brinkman, Moon, Mits and Lunt. Hopefully we see eachother again! Thanks for being awesome!

-Saturday we went on an excursion with the branch to the countryside and we also went to a crystal cave.  A smaller version of Kartchner Caverns.  It was fun and good bonding time with the members and district.  #love Got told i was wearing girls clothes by a member..I wont memntion any names..i will just try to love them..#toughlove

Spiritual Thought:
I dont have much to say this week unfortunately but being in Oradea has realy been a test of patience in many ways.  Many new thingsthat im not used to and im learning to be diligent and powerful in new and exciting ways.  I know God is helping me in as much as i try. I really want this lst 6 montsh to be me giving my all!  I know that the Lord will help me inthis effort to consecrate my efforts and serve him with all my "might mind and strength"  that i can become a greater instrument in His hands.
